About Me

I’m Dan Alvarez, and I’m excited to be entering my 17th year of being an educator and starting here at Rowlett Academy!  My educational journey began in Nanuet, NY, at the same elementary school I once attended, where I taught 3rd and 4th grade. My career then took me to KIPP Academy Elementary School in the Bronx, NY, where I founded the 1st-grade team and later taught PE for a decade, while also coaching K-2 students in phonics and guided reading skills. For the past three years, I’ve been teaching 5th grade in Bradenton at Johnson K8.

Outside of school, I’m a family man, married to the wonderful Lindsay, and a father to Evelyn and James. I am thrilled we will all be here together from here on out. My passions include Star Wars, UFC, heavy metal, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, playing guitar, riding my electric skateboard, and enjoying trips to Disney, the beach, and Georgia. I’m excited to be part of the Rowlett family and look forward to contributing to our community. Let’s make it an amazing year together, and may the force be with you all!
