Welcome Friends and Families!
My name is Sarah Berk and I am honored to be Rowlett Academy's Reading Interventionist. I was brought to Rowlett 8 years ago when my oldest child entered Kindergarten and quickly became a raving fan. This year will be my 6th year as a member of this extraordinary team of Educators. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading which is known for its explicit, systematic and multi-sensory approach to reading, which follows the Science of Reading research. I love teaching kids the hows and whys of our language, as well as tools they can use to become successful readers.
A little about me :)
I am a Sarasota native and have been married for 14 years. My husband and I have two amazing girls who keep us busy with their respective sports. My hobbies include traveling, going on walks, going to the beach and continuing my education.
