Welcome to First Grade! I have truly enjoyed my summer and hope that you have too. I did some cleaning, yard work,  went to a couple Lightning playoff games, kayaking, and relaxed. I am so excited to continue our journey from last year.  Also, we welcome some new friends to our classroom.  We will have a wonderful time learning many new things and becoming friends!

 

I am thrilled to guide your child's love of exploration and learning so that they can achieve their highest potential.  My goal is to ignite the love of learning in a safe, loving environment.  It is an honor to be your child's teacher.

 

Our day will consist of Power Up curriculum: 8 Habits, CKLA reading, CKLA phonemic awareness and phonics, Heggerty, math, Spanish, writing, recess, snack, and creating wonderful crafts.  We will be working in cooperative groups, independent work, whole class, and with a buddy. We will learn through hands on activities, role-playing, technology, creative arts, and music. The kiddos will get to experience the Arts such as Drama, Dance, Digital Media, Arts, Physical Education, Music and Computer Lab. As you can see, we are very busy learning so a good night rest and substantial breakfast is crucial for optimal learning.  First Grade will be a blast!
