Dear Rowlett Elementary Families,
Well, this is it. Your final Principal’s Bloomz message prior to the start of what will end up being an incredible year. We have been together on this Covid journey for the past 5 months and we have many more weeks to go. Thank you for being with us. Your teachers and the entire Rowlett staff have been working around the clock to develop and run an educational program to meet the needs of our face to face and iRowlie students. It hasn’t been easy. However, we all are finding silver linings that we will build on for years to come that will enhance and dramatically change the way we teach kids. It will continue to take great effort, patience, and positive attitudes.
I strongly encourage you to go back and view all the messages and videos from previous Bloomz messages and website links to review the information we have provided on the face to face and iRowlie programs. We have sent a lot of information and it may seem overwhelming but the answers to most of your questions have already been answered in these documents. Important Bloomz Messages are always duplicated on our website under the “News and Announcements” section: https://www.rowlettacademy.org/apps/news/.
Please also note we will be connecting you to your teacher’s on Bloomz soon. In the meantime, please communicate with your child’s teacher via email. You can always refer to the staff directory: https://www.rowlettacademy.org/apps/staff/
If you are an iRowlie parent your teacher will be sending you log in information for your child’s Google Classroom account by Sunday. If you are a face to face parent please make sure that you send your child on the bus and arrive at school every day with a face mask. In addition, PLEASE, keep your child home if they are sick or exhibiting any Covid-type symptoms. This will save you the drive to pick them up later.
There is a lot of concern with masks. Our current policy is every child comes to school every day in a mask unless we have a doctor’s note with a clinical reason why a mask cannot be worn and then a face shield is acceptable. If you are providing a gaiter for your child it needs to be cotton and have at least 2-ply of material.
School starts for all students on Monday! We can’t wait to start and are ready for your children. We hope that all of our families will join us for Virtual Parent University tomorrow!
