Audition and Ensemble criteria
Rowlett Chix is a highenergy, fast–pacedperformance group. It requires a lot of commitment and dedication. Thisis not an “Elite”group, nor is it a “Lifer”group. Every girl MUST audition every year if they wish to participate in thisprogram. The program is designed to develop and enhance skills, and showcase Gr3-5 girls who show a strong aptitude for performance and a passion for theircraft. This involves strong singing skills, movement, leadership, andshowmanship.
Auditions-
- Dates-Monday Aug 22, Tuesday Aug 23- 3:35- 5:00pm
- Signup for 1 day only (music room)
- Studentswho have not signed up will not be auditioned
Criteria-
- Allperspective performers will perform the same song (Happy Birthday) This songshows range, tonal center, and melodic comprehension. They will sing solo, andwith a group
- Allgirls will do a simple movement combination
- Qualities/Skills that the judges will be looking for and rating are –
ENERGY,Smile, Presence, Vocal range, Vocal center, Ability to follow simple movement,Showmanship. Girls with the highest scores will be placed
- Therewill be 3 impartial judges with performance backgrounds and
experienceon the judging committee. Ms. Baudrit will not be on the judges committee.
Chix Rehearsals/info-
- Theresults will be posted and sent home by Sept 1
- Practicebegins on Thursday Sept 8
- Chixwill meet Thursdays from 3:20-4:30pm for the entire school year
- Youwill be notified if additional rehearsals are needed for performances
- Pick up at 4:30 in BUS LOOP
